Red Velvet Cheesecake Waffle

No, you didn’t read that wrong.

Ever since December 25th, I’ve been eating a Belgian waffle every morning for breakfast. I’ve tried out so many recipes that I am surprised I haven’t turned into a waffle by now! Just warning ya’ll that this blog might be flooded with my combinations :)

Back to the main point – red velvet. It’s delicious. If you haven’t had red velvet cake then you are really missing out on life. Cheesecake spread? Even better!

waffle

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup Buckwheat Flour (or any other flour)
  • 20 grams (about 1/4 cup) of Red Velvet cake flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 Cup of water
  • 1 tsp Red Food Dye
  • 1 tsp Cocoa Powder
  • 1/2 Tbsp of Alouette Cheesecake Spread

Directions:

  1. Mix all the dry ingredients together.
  2. Add Egg and mix in
  3. Add water until you get to a more liquid consistency. It might be more or less than a cup.
  4. Cook to your waffle irons directions
  5. Top with Cheesecake goodness.

Go make this now.

  1. Let’s have a breakfast party? I’l bring the iced coffee/tea and you make the waffles! I only discovered the deliciousness of red velvet last month and it’s possibly the best flavor cake I’ve ever had…and clearly these waffles have potential to be the best kind of waffle :) !

  2. That sounds fantastic. Like really life changing good. I wish I could have a waffle iron at school! Dorm problems… I’ll just have to keep this in mind for when I’m at home! In the meantime I have to find the cheesecake spread!!!

  3. WHOA. whoa. Ok so I’ve had red velvet froyo and really didn’t like it, but maybe if I tried it in solid cake-like (or waffle-like) form as its meant to be….anyway, you had me at “cheesecake spread”. Basically going to troll my way around CO Springs looking for that now. ALways love when you pop up in my google reader with something creative and delicious! :-D
